The second meeting of the Consortium of users of the Hydrobiological Station in Mikolajki was held on 19 and 20 September 2016. It was attended by the directors of the Nencki Institute: prof. A. Szewczyk, prof. H. Fabczak and A. Jachner-Miśkiewicz PhD, station employees – prof. J. Ejsmont-rifle and Thomas Janecki PhD, consortium members: prof. R. Chróst – Head of the Department of Ecology of Microorganisms and Biotechnology University of Warsaw (chairman of the Consortium), prof. P. Dawidowicz from the Department of Hydrobiology University of Warsaw, D. Gorniak PhD from the Department of Microbiology UWM, J. Jaszczur-Nowicki PhD, DSc – Vice Dean for Students of the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Ecology UWM, which is interested in cooperation with the Station, and also I. Feniova PhD from the Institute of Ecology and Evolution, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow. In the first part of the meeting prof. A. Szewczyk briefly reported on the activities of the Nencki Institute, A. Jachner-Miśkiewicz PhD – reported on the investments made at the Station from 2014, Tomasz Janecki PhD – on the educational activity at the Station since September 2015. In the second part of meeting the consortium members presented their activities carried out at the Station in the last two years, and discussed plans for further activity and the prospects for close cooperation based on joint research projects (TJ)
