CONFERENCE “40 YEARS OF THE MASURIAN LANDSCAPE PARK – BIODIVERSITY AND CULTURE”

On 31.05-01.06, a scientific conference entitled “40 Years of Masurian Landscape Park – Biodiversity and Culture” was held in the “Mazurski Raj” Holiday Resort in Piaski on the Bełdany Lake, dedicated to the functioning, shaping and protection of environment of the Masurian Landscape Park. This meeting gathered and summarized current information about the scientific research and knowledge about the biological and cultural diversity of the Masurian Landscape Park. The first day of the conference was devoted to the cultural, social and historical topics of the region (5 lectures), and the second –  of the Park’s biodiversity (16 lectures). On the first day there was also a poster session. The future of the Park was also discussed during the conference among the Park staff, scientists from different disciplines, representatives of the State Forests and Regional Direction for Environmental Protection and non-governmental organizations. Assoc. prof. Jolanta Ejsmont-Karabin (chair) and  Tomasz Janecki PhD  from the Hydrobiological Station in Mikołajki were in the Scientific Committee of this Conference (TJ)
