Ryszard Chróst (1947-)

Prof.; specialist in the field of applying the latest methods, including molecular biology methods in ecological research; main interest:  study of bacterial production and metabolism, decomposition and use of organic matter; one of the most cited Polish microbiologists, scholarship holder of numerous foreign scientific institutions; long-time Head of the Department of Ecology of Microorganisms and Environmental Biotechnology of the Botany Institute of the University of Warsaw (now an emploee); chairman of the Consortium of Station Users; erudite, great organizer.
