On April 15-17, 2018, a workshop for PhD students of the Interdisciplinary Polar Studies (KNOW ISP PhD Meeting) took place at the Hydrobiological Station of the Nencki Institute PAS in Mikołajki. Meeting included lectures, field activities on water and final presentations. The Hydrobiological Station of the Nencki Institute PAS in Mikolajki is among the finalists of the “POPULARIZER OF THE SCIENCE 2017” competition (in the category: Institution). Since 2014, we have been organizing (co-organizing or active participant) 41 popularization and educational events, which were attended by approximately 2400 people. The winners of the competition will be announce during the Grand Gala in January 2018 at the Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw. Please keep your fingers crossed! On November 17th 2017, the SCIENCE FESTIVAL was held at the Hydrobiological Station of the Nencki Institute in Mikołajki, organized jointly with the Mazurian Landscape Park. This year we have extended the educational program to archaeological workshops conducted by archaeologists from the Warsaw University (the “Terra Desolata” group). On October 24th, 2017 at the Hydrobiological Station in Mikolajki, seniors from the University of the Third Age took a part in the course, where Jolanta Ejsmont-Karabin talked about the wonderful culture and nature of Mexico. On September 29, a meeting of the Station Advisory Team was held at the Hydrobiological Station of the Nencki Institute in Mikolajki. The Team consisted of: prof.
